Formula and Logic

The calculator uses two core constraints to determine maximum pallet load: space capacity and weight capacity.

• Space Calculation: First, convert all dimensions to a common unit (centimeters). For the pallet base, calculate how many products fit along the pallet’s length and width, testing both original and rotated orientations if allowed. Multiply these values to get units per layer, then multiply by the number of layers that fit within the pallet’s max load height.
• Weight Calculation: Convert product weight and pallet max weight to a common unit (kilograms). Divide the pallet’s max weight by the product’s weight per unit to get the maximum units allowed by weight.
• Final Max Units: The lower of the space-limited and weight-limited unit counts is used as the final maximum units per pallet.

Utilization percentages are calculated by dividing used space/weight by total available space/weight, multiplied by 100.

• Standard pallet weight limits are typically 2,000 lbs (907 kg) for US pallets and 1,500 kg for EU pallets, but always confirm with your carrier.
