Spending Value Breakdown

Cost per Gem:-
Total Spent on Category:-
Percentage of Total Gems Used:-

💡 Tip: Include bonus gems from first-time purchases or promotions in "Total Gems Received" for accurate calculations.

How to Use This Tool

Enter your total real money spent on gems and the total number of gems you received from all purchases, including bonus gems from promotions or first-time buyer offers.

Select the currency you used for purchases from the dropdown menu.

Choose the category you spent gems on, such as character banners or battle passes, then enter the total number of gems you spent on that category.

Optionally add the gem cost per item (e.g., 1600 gems per 5-star character) to calculate per-item value.

Click the Calculate Value button to see a detailed breakdown of your spending, or Reset to clear all fields.

Formula and Logic

The calculator uses three core formulas to generate your results:

  • Cost per Gem = Total Real Money Spent ÷ Total Gems Received
  • Total Category Spend = Cost per Gem × Gems Spent on Target Category
  • Gem Usage Percentage = (Gems Spent on Target Category ÷ Total Gems Received) × 100

If you provide a gems per item value, we calculate Value per Item = Cost per Gem × Gems per Item.

Remaining gems value is calculated as (Total Gems Received - Gems Spent on Target) × Cost per Gem.

Practical Notes

Gem values are often patch-dependent: game developers may adjust gem bundle sizes, add limited-time bonus gems, or change item gem costs in updates, so recalculate after major patches.

Gacha games rely on RNG for drops: spending gems on character or weapon banners does not guarantee a drop, so the calculated value reflects the real money cost of gems spent, not guaranteed returns.

Tabletop gaming gem equivalents (e.g., miniature packs, booster box costs) may have regional price variations not reflected in the currency selector, so adjust your total spent manually if needed.

Promotional offers like "double first purchase gems" should be included in your total gems received to avoid undercalculating cost per gem.

Why This Tool Is Useful

Gamers can compare the value of different gem bundles across regions or promotions to maximize their spending power.

Streamers and content creators can use the breakdown to show viewers exactly how much real money they are spending on in-game items during streams.

Game designers can use the calculator to audit their own gem pricing models and ensure their monetization is competitive with similar titles.

Competitive players can track spending on battle passes or ranked rewards to budget their gaming expenses over a season.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this calculator account for RNG drop rates in gacha games?

No, the tool calculates the real money value of gems spent, not the probability of receiving specific items. For example, if you spend 3200 gems on a character banner with a 0.6% drop rate, the calculator will show the real money value of those 3200 gems, not the expected number of pulls to get the character.

How do I include bonus gems from first-time purchases?

Add all bonus gems to your Total Gems Received field. For example, if you spend $99.99 on a bundle that gives 6000 base gems plus 4000 bonus first-time gems, enter 10000 as your total gems received.

Can I use this for tabletop game spending?

Yes, the Tabletop Miniatures and Other categories are designed for non-digital spending. Enter the total real money spent on gem-equivalent items (e.g., booster boxes, miniature packs) and the total number of "gems" (e.g., total cards, miniatures) received to calculate per-item value.

Additional Guidance

Always check your game's current patch notes before calculating: limited-time events may offer bonus gems that change your cost per gem significantly.

If you play games across multiple regions, use the currency selector to calculate spending in your local currency for accurate budgeting.

For gacha games, track your spending per banner rather than per season to get more granular insights into which banners offer the best value for your goals.

Avoid including gifted gems in your total spent field, as these were not purchased with real money and will skew your cost per gem calculation.
